By accessing or using CrypClip (www.crypclip.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use this website or its services.
Description of Service
CrypClip is a free, client-side encryption utility that allows users to encrypt and decrypt text messages using PGP/GPG encryption (OpenPGP.js) directly in the browser. All cryptographic operations are performed locally on your device.
CrypClip does not store, transmit, or process your data on any server. There are no user accounts, no databases, and no server-side components involved in the encryption or decryption of your messages.
Disclaimer of Warranties
"As Is" Basis
CrypClip is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
No Guarantee of Security
While CrypClip uses industry-standard encryption (OpenPGP.js with AES-256), we do not warrant or guarantee that the service is completely secure, error-free, or uninterrupted. No method of electronic transmission or encryption is 100% secure.
No Password Recovery
CrypClip does not store your passwords or encryption keys. If you lose or forget your password, your encrypted data cannot be recovered. We bear no responsibility for any data loss resulting from forgotten or lost passwords.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Dutch law and applicable European Union regulations, the operator of CrypClip, its owner, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
Data Loss
Loss of data, messages, or information resulting from the use or inability to use the service, including data that cannot be decrypted due to lost passwords.
Security Breaches
Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data, including breaches caused by vulnerabilities in your browser, operating system, or device.
Third-Party Actions
Any conduct or content of any third party related to the service, including misuse of encrypted messages by recipients or interception during transmission.
Software Defects
Any bugs, errors, or vulnerabilities in the software, including in the OpenPGP.js library or any other third-party dependency.
Financial or Other Losses
Any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or any other intangible losses arising from the use of CrypClip, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
User Responsibilities
Lawful Use Only
You agree to use CrypClip only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
Password Management
You are solely responsible for managing and safeguarding your encryption passwords. We cannot recover, reset, or retrieve lost passwords under any circumstances.
Evaluating Suitability
You are responsible for determining whether CrypClip is suitable for your intended use. For high-security or regulated environments, you should consult a qualified security professional.
No Illegal Activity
You must not use CrypClip to encrypt, transmit, or store any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable under applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the operator of CrypClip and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
Third-Party Software
CrypClip relies on third-party open-source software, including but not limited to OpenPGP.js. These third-party components are provided under their own respective licenses and warranties. We make no representations or warranties regarding any third-party software and accept no liability for any issues arising from their use.
Service Availability
We do not guarantee that CrypClip will be available at all times. The service may be suspended, restricted, or terminated at any time without notice, for any reason. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of CrypClip after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the Netherlands.
